Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev P. Sahni, a distinguished Sports Psychologist and Mental Trainer, is the Founder of the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS) and Principal Director of Behavioural Sciences at Sumona. A pivotal contributor to the establishment of O.P. Jindal Global University in 2009, he has held key leadership roles including Principal Director at JIBS, Advisor to the Vice-Chancellor, and member of the university’s Governing Body.
Dr. Sahni has spearheaded several specialized centres focusing on victimology, leadership, and community mental health. A leading authority in Psychology, his expertise encompasses criminal psychology, neuropsychology, leadership development, and organisational behaviour. Holding a Ph.D. in Organisational Behaviour, he brings over 32 years of multifaceted experience spanning academia, industry, and government sectors.
His earlier roles include serving as a Research Scientist in the United States and working with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) for 14 years, where he played a crucial role in mentoring elite athletes. An accomplished author, Dr. Sahni has published more than 35 research papers, 20 book chapters, and 14 books, including The Death Penalty, Internet Infidelity, and Maximising Human Potential Through Behavioural Competencies. His work is renowned for seamlessly integrating psychological theory with practical application in sport and performance.
