Ajay Jadeja
Visiting Coach
Ajay Jadeja, who played 15 Test matches and 196 ODIs for India between 1992 and 2000, is one of the proud pupils of Gurcharan Singh, who started playing cricket at the age of 9 from the National Stadium. Cricket player known for his analytical mindset and aggressive style of play, Ajay had also been the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team once. At the time of his international retirement, he was still involved with the sport as a consulting coach for some state sides.
He was appointed mentor to the Afghanistan national team in 2024, who sadly missed making history by narrowly failing to reach the semifinals of the World Cup. Amidst all his hectic engagements, Ajay makes it a point to return to the Dronacharya Cricket Academy whenever he can, where he greets his beloved coach and enthusiastically imparts his wisdom and experience to the new trainees and fellow mentors as well, always bidding adieu with inspiration and encouragement.
